About Us
Our mission is to provide information, support and resources for people with Aspergers or high-functioning autism by connecting them and their families with each other and members of the community to share information and experiences. This site will present ideas to address issues by connecting those with Aspergers to each other through local support groups, on-line chats and message boards. We will provide a practical approach toward dealing with the demands faced in a lifetime in hopes that people with Asperger's, or high-functioning individuals may achieve their full potential in education, work and life
Definition of Asperger's Syndrome
Asperger's Syndrome can be summed up by saying a person with normal to high intelligence with very low social skills is the definition of Asperger's Syndrome. However, anyone that has the syndrome or knows someone with it also knows it is so much more. A person may have trouble with their gait or fine motor skills which make them appear clumsy. They may have hyper-sensitivity to noises, lights, textures or smells. Their routine may be very rigid and if changed cause a great deal of distress. Along with the characteristics attributed to the syndrome there are often other conditions that seem to frequently occur like ADD, ADHD, insomnia, and digestive difficulties.

Why only Asperger's Syndrome?
The needs for individuals with Asperger's Syndrome vary from those with classsic autism. As a non-profit we decided to focus our limited time and energy to one area to provide the best results possible rather than spreading out our efforts and having less impact. Also, we believe people with Asperger's often receive fewer services due to their intelligence and language skills.
